Advancements in medical science are making leaps and bounds which result to better prevention and eradication of diseases that scourged
mankind for centuries. However, the discovery of new medicines is compensated by the discovery of new diseases and pathogens. Added to this is the fact that
cure or medicines for some other more common diseases like herpes are still under research and development stage. One promising recent discovery in fighting viral infections such as herpes and HIV are novel glutathione derivatives. Lab experimentations had show remarkable decreased in the replication of herpes viruses by balancing and maintaining the anti-oxidative state of cells thereby preventing viral replication. However, this is still had to undergo extensive clinical research.
